BuzzNumbers Operations Manager (DevOps / Sysadmin)

BuzzNumbers is looking for a sysadmin or devops to step up to the plate and advance your career as Operations Manager.

You will manage Cloud Based big data Software as a Service Infrastructure using the latest technologies including Chef, Puppet, Dome9, CloudPassage, MongoDB, SOLR, Elastic Search, RabbitMQ and more.

You will need to be a fast learner with initiative, enthusiasm and drive to master new technologies. You will need to love automating everything and hate manual processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage operations and uptime for ~100 Cloud and Dedicated Servers
• Design and Implement Security processes
• Improve Issue Monitoring for Servers, Hardware, Applications, Services and Databases
• Assist Senior Engineers with reusable processes
• Assist with Deployments of Applications and Databases
• Manage DNS, Network Configuration and Server Configuration
• Manage capacity planning
• Work with Build and Deployment Servers for Automated Software Deployment
• Design, implement and manage automatic configuration services (Dome9 or CloudPassage and ScriptRock)
• Design automated cloud expansion strategies with our Engineers to auto-matically scale terabytes of new data storage and processing (chef, puppet, AWS, Rackspace, etc)

Experience and Education

• Ideally 2-6 years Commercial Experience
• Windows and Unix/Linux Environments
• SQL Server / MySQL Administration Experience Useful
• Manage Cloud Security processes across providers and
• desirable, experience with or keen to learn MongoDB Administration, configuration management tools such as chef/puppet
